Tues 28th

We stopped at a deli to get some scones to have in the park for breakfast/lunch. Then headed downtown for a few more things to explore. On the way we spotted The Little Dublin Museum. We decided to do a tour. It was very informative and interesting.

Next to Trinity College. Getting in to see the Book of Kells was very expensive so we just wandered the grounds.

Walked past the beautiful old Customs House. Then decided to head for a beer and a bite to eat. We sat by this very interesting man from Cork...Kenneth. He talked to us for about an hr. so we had to give up our idea of going to the City Hall.  He comes into this pub every week from Cork. This pub is small...as many are and has been in the family for a very long time. We realized that the small pubs have no food ...only crisps...because none of them have kitchens. But they have amazing selections of all types of booze.

We came back to the room then walked to a couple of places nearby for dinner. We are struggling with how expensive everything here is.  €17 for a burger which equates to $25 Cdn. We decided to save our money for a beer so went to a cheap Mexican place like Chipotle. It was filling and ok. Then we headed back to the Temple Bar area in search of some music. We hit the jackpot at the Temple Bar.

Mon 27th

We headed downtown to explore. We did a lot of walking but saw lots of sights.

Coffee before we start

We went into a mall that had very unique architecture....looking for Ron to get something to ease his feet.

In St Stephens Park there were beautiful walkways and a small lake. We finally got a picture of the 2 of us together.

We went to the Temple Bar area....in search of the original Temple Bar. There were so many unique bars.

We picked a pub not far from us for dinner. The food was good....Ron’s burger and my salad. The waitress recommended a place to listen to some music. Ron had 2 beer and I had 2 gins....cost us $35 Cdn but it was fun.

Sun 26th

A travel day. We had to be out of our accommodation by 11 and it was raining so we headed to the airport. It was a long tedious day waiting 5 hours for a 1 hr flight.

The plane was very small....a prop plane. But I managed it as it was only 1 1/2 hrs with a headwind.

We were able to find our place and once again it was cold and rainy. Dinner ...pizza and salad at 8:30.

Sat 25th

We went into town to do some more exploring and try to find Elbert a hat. It was our first full day without any rain.

Fri 24th

We decided to walk into town. Part way there we saw a path that was the Leith walkway. It went along the Leith River. It was quite beautiful and went through so cute areas of town. We walked 8 miles of the 24 along the path. The end destination was the Royal Britannia yacht.

I

We went into a pub to get away from the rain. Then had a carvery dinner....lots of food...no flavour

Thurs 23rd

Aileen came to the apartment to see us off. And she brought us homemade oatcakes.

We left Glasgow in another rain storm

We went downtown to Edinburgh for dinner and then to the Military Tattoo. Ron had bangers and mash

The Tattoo was amazing. It rained for a while at the beginning but then it cleared up. But it was cold....you could see your breath.
